When faced with an emergency typically the tipping point of you and your family’s survival is the level of preparedness you have taken before hand. Emergency supplies are the first line of defense in living through a crisis.
We offer you a whole line of survival supplies. We have knives and tools, gas stoves, tents and much more. Make sure you and your family has the necessary needs to make it 72 hours without electricity, shelter and water. These items should NOT be stored alongside your long term food storage items. They should be in an area that is easily accessible when rushed to evacuate. Typical places to store these items are pantries, hall closet or any area on the main floor with ease of access. Additionally, make sure that you combine the emergency supplies in a lightweight easily portable bag suited for carrying, in case of evacuation.
Things a typical an emergency kit should have are a flashlight, stove, emergency rations, tents, water, warmth and first aid.
FlashLights
These tools are essential s for your preparedness plan for obvious reasons, finding your way through dark can be difficult and even deadly. Often times, during a disaster, there are obstacles and even the most traversed areas can drastically change. We suggest getting multiple flashlights for each bedroom and a couple for the kit.
Stoves
Stoves are not only used for cooking but also for heat. For those of you that live in areas that have a winter this is an essential to keep warm in the most adverse situations. We offer a large selection of lightweight gas and propane stoves.
Emergency Rations
This is different than your long term food storage. It is a provision that can be opened and eaten without having to cook with enough nutrients and calories to keep you alive. We suggest MRE packages or freeze dried fruits and vegetable packaged in our pouches. Both are light and ready to eat. Although MRE packages are chalk full of nutrient, they are normally not appetizing. Freeze dried foods are tasty and can be used as a great substitution to the MRE.
Tents
Shelter is one of the three survival essentials. Make sure you a tent or tents that can accommodate every person in your house hold.
Water
Water is another essential in staying alive; however it is very heavy to store and should be limited to the recommended minimum. A good rule of thumb is 1 gallon per person per 72 hours. It should be sealed and stored in a dark cool area. We offer water bottles and storage containers but you can also pick up already filled spring or filtered water at your local convenience store. If you store tap water make sure to rotate it every 6 months.
Warmth
Sleeping bags and blankets are important sources of warmth. We offer a variety of both. If you live in an area that experience all four seasons then you need to add a sleeping bag or blanket for each of the members of you household. Even in the mildest climates warmth is essential in administering first to a person in shock. Add at least one blanket to your kit.
First Aid
Whether or not you are planning on storing you’re a full kit or not, a first aid kit is essential for your day to day safety. This is a must for every household.
